Photographer Pat Kay recently posted a great street photography video where he talks about five different tips and techniques pros use. Here is what he had to say about his video:
Street Photography is a category of photography that is really dear to my heart. It’s the first category I tried to learn and master, and over the many years I’ve built up many different skills and spoke to many pro photographers about how to progress in the craft of Street Photography.
Excellent street photography tips for new comers to street photography
Great tips, thanks. I find I struggle most with understanding zone focusing which I have been playing with and trying to understand. I have a Fujifilm X100S fixed wide lens. And I find that when I take it off Aperture priority mode I can no longer adjust exposure compensation on the fly. I don’t know why, but that seems to be the way it is. So I just go ahead and use Aperture priority, which overall seems to work okay.
How do you feel about zone focusing and does it have some advantages that I should learn and disadvantages that I should know about?
Thanks for your interest and assistance.
Best, Mary
